About me
Imana A. Sherrill is a mission-driven educational leader and executive coach with 30+ years in independent schools, specializing in strategic planning, instructional leadership, DEI, and leadership development. She serves as head of school at Trinity Episcopal School in Charlotte, NC, and is the first woman and person of color to lead the school. Under her leadership, Trinity has strengthened academic systems, expanded academic leadership, increased community engagement, and deepened a culture of transparency and continuous improvement. Previously, she served as head of middle school at The Episcopal Academy and as director of diversity & inclusion at William Penn Charter School. A sought-after speaker and thought partner, Imana serves on boards including SAIS and Wake Forest’s School of Professional Studies and is active with UNC Charlotte’s Black Alumni Board. She is recognized as Who’s Who in Black Charlotte and a Charlotte Ledger “40 Over 40” honoree.
